DSC 1006 - Introduction to Emergency Management and Homeland Security


This course will introduce students to the vocabulary and important components of Emergency Management to include Homeland Security. We will discuss the importance of the agencies associated with Disasters, Homeland Security and their interrelated duties and relationships. We will examine historical events that impact Emergency Management. We will explore state, national, and international laws impacting Disasters and Emergency Management, including Homeland Security. 
Prerequisites: Placement into ENC 1101 or higher and placement into MAT 1033 or higher.
