Associate in Science
This program prepares students to pursue a career in aviation technical, administrative or management positions in public, private or government aviation operations. Students gain the knowledge and skills required to become airline business managers, airport managers or air traffic controllers.
Students entering the Air Traffic Control (6967) track will also receive the necessary training to meet entry level air traffic control requirements. At the completion of this program, AT-CTI graduates are able to demonstrate proficient, entry-level air traffic controller operating techniques, procedures, and skills, understanding of air traffic regulations, the regulatory responsibility and authority of the Federal Aviation Administration as well as awareness of current aviation issues and trends as they relate to the aviation industry.
Students may begin taking aviation classes without being accepted into the AT-CTI program. Students can apply to the AT-CTI program only after they have completed the required prerequisite classes. (see Air Traffic Control (6967) ).
Students interested in admittance to the Air Traffic-Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI) program, and applying to the FAA as an air traffic controller should see the FAA Air Traffic Control guidelines at http://www.faa.gov/jobs/job_opportunities/airtraffic_controllers/.
