ASL 1300 - Structure of American Sign LanguageThis course looks in depth at the structure of American Sign Language through the basic linguistic principles of phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics. Some exposure to current research of ASL structure, features of ASL discourse, and metaphorical use is also included. Students will be expected to analyze a variety of ASL signers in the Sign Lab as well as within their course textbook materials.
