ENC 0025 - Essentials in Writing II This course is an introductory course in composition which provides students the necessary instruction to gain greater proficiency in basic writing skills. The course involves a variety of teaching and learning methods, including lab-enhanced learning, lecture, discussion, cooperative learning, and others. As a result of carefully planned learning experiences, students should be able to write clear, adequately-developed, logically-organized, paragraphs as well as essays which conform to the conventions of standard American English. Students must pass both the course and a writing exit exam in order to proceed to ENC 1101. This college preparatory course does not apply toward the associates degree. Prerequisites: Appropriate score on a college placement test; or completion of ENC 0015 with a grade “C” or higher. Credit Hours:4. Contact Hours: 8 contact hours: Lab-based learning, lecture, discussion, cooperative learning, and other relevant instructional methods. Student Advising Notes – ENC 0025 (Essentials in Writing II) will replace ENC 0021 (Introduction to Composition B).
