Associate in Science
Budgets, books, statistics, spreadsheets. Would you be comfortable with any of these terms in your job description? Your career opportunities and potential for advancement in the accounting field multiply greatly with the attainment of this degree. The program prepares you for accounting-related positions in industry, federal, state and local government, and public accounting. Upon completion, you will have a thorough understanding of accounting principles and theory and the ability to apply this knowledge to problem situations.
Three technical certificates available within this degree program: Accounting Technology Management (6224) (T.C.) , Accounting Technology Operations (6223) (T.C.) and Accounting Technology Specialist (6221) (T.C.) . Students may pursue the A.S. degree and earn technical certificates while completing the requirements for the degree, or pursue one or more certificates to develop or upgrade their skills in a particular field. Mission/Purpose
The mission of the A.S. in Accounting Technology is to provide a program of professional accounting education that prepares students for entry-level opportunities and to provide them with a foundation for continued long-term career success. The program emphasizes analyzing, recording and reporting of financial information.
